Giants Causeway and Belfast City Tour Itinerary

Leave the Belfast approx. 8:00 am. Time changes with every customer. Please note: This tour needs a minimum of 10 hours

The Dark Hedges: One of the most popular natural phenomena in Northern Ireland, the Dark Hedges were used as a set for the hit TV series Game of Thrones. It was the famous King’s Road in Season 2. The hedges were planted by the Stuart family in the eighteenth century. It was intended to impress visitors as they approached the entrance to their home, Gracehill House. Two centuries later, the trees remain a magnificent sight and have become known as the Dark Hedges.

Dunluce Castle: We continue a wonderful day with a photo stop at Dunluce Castle. We arrive at one of the most dramatic castle ruins in the world. Prepare to be amazed at the way this old castle hangs over the edge of the cliffs. Home to the McDonnell Clan for many years and considered the most romantic castle in Ireland. En route we pass through Bushmills, famed for the fantastic whiskey, which is enjoyed all over the world.

Old Bushmills Distillery: The area has a long tradition of distillation. According to one story, as far back as 1276, an early settler called Sir Robert Savage of Ard’s before defeating the Irish in battle fortified his troops with “a mighty drop of aqua vitae” In 1608, a license was granted to Sir Thomas Phillips Irish adventurer by King James I to distill whiskey. When we stop off at Bushmills Distillery you can visit the gift shop or take a quick trip to the bar to have a swift taste or two of the famous tipple, Irish whiskey! The word ‘whiskey’ comes from the Irish ‘uisce beatha’ meaning ‘water of life. you will not be able to take a tour due to time constraints)

Lunch Stop: We can stop for lunch in a nice Irish pub to sample our good food and maybe a cheeky pint of Guinness. Or if you want to keep it simple then a nice portion of fish and chips and not forgetting mushy peas, from one of the local chip shops.

Giant’s Causeway: We continue along the coastal drive with fantastic views of Whitepark Bay and Portbradden. We visit the 40,000 basalt columns whose tops form “stepping stones” leading from the cliff foot and disappearing under the sea. They reappear in the island of Straffe, hence the legend that this was a road built by the giant Finn McCool to enable him to cross over to Scotland. 

White Park Bay: A Beautiful scenic beach at the very tip of Ireland and the closest country from here would be Iceland which is 800 miles away.

Carrick-A-Rede Rope Bridge: Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge (Photo stop at the viewing point, you will not be able to cross the bridge due to time constraints)

Coastline Views: We travel along the Causeway Coastal route between Ballycastle and Dunluce to experience one of the most dramatic drives in the world, now rated as one of the world’s great road journeys. We transport you by windswept cliffs, spectacular scenery, and fabulous unspoiled beaches.

International Wall Falls Road Murals: Northern Ireland has become famous for the murals painted in almost every area of the country. They often depict the history and political views of both traditions and are a way of marking territory.

Clonard Monastery: Clonard Monastery is a Catholic church and monastery, located off the Falls Road in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The complex was developed by the Catholic Redemptorists’ religious order. Members of this religious order came to Belfast originally in 1896.

Bombay Street memorial garden: In 1969, a sectarian mob burned 1,500 residents from their homes on Bombay Street, Belfast Around 1,500 Catholic families were left homeless. 

Peace Wall: The first peace lines were built in 1969, following the outbreak of the 1969 Northern Ireland riots and the Troubles They were built as temporary structures meant to last only six months, but due to their effective nature, they have become wider, longer and more permanent.

Shankill Road and Murals: The Shankill Road (from Irish, Seanchill, meaning “old church” is one of the main roads leading through west Belfast, the capital and largest city of Northern Ireland It runs through the working-class, predominantly loyalist area known as the Shankill.

Crumlin Road Jail/Gaol: Crumlin Road features two imposing structures of Belfast’s criminal justice system, the Crumlin Road Gaol (Jail) and Courthouse. Please note there is no time for the official Crumlin Road Jail tour.

Once a deposit or full payment has been made and you need to cancel your trip. Cancellation terms will be applied based on the date that the written cancellation is received and based on the following dates prior to tour commencement. Cancellation fees as listed below.

  • Prior to 4 weeks before the hire date – 50% of the deposit paid will be refunded
  • 2 – 4 weeks prior to hire date – 50% of the total amount paid will be refunded.
  • 1 – 13 days prior to the hire date – no refund applies
  • If the customer does not appear at the time and place designated as the pick-up location – all monies paid will be non-refundable.
  • Tickets for events or attractions are non-refundable.
  • Airport and coach transfer services are non-refundable.
  • Cruise Ship passengers will receive a full refund if your ship itinerary changes and does not dock at Belfast. Cruise Terminal.
